If you have your own independent business, there are two organizations that I hope you are well known. You do a great job promoting local independent small businesses, promoting community participation and government. It takes us all working together to improve our communities and local businesses.
The National Federation of Independent Business helps individual entrepreneurs in planning, taxation and legal issues. They have representatives in all 50 states and Washington; I visit the site frequently for advice and articles. I guarantee you the most useful information on its Website.
The American Independent Business Alliance, based in Bozeman, MT promotes purchase helps businesses independently or IBA Independent Business Alliances. These alliances, in turn, promote community involvement; the best example is the annual America Unchained Day, celebrated every year in November on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. They show their communities the power to “put your money where your house.”
I appeal to all entrepreneurs, regardless NFIB to come to look into getting a IBA. I am in the process of doing two things. We as a team for our communities and independent contractors.
Make a difference, as well as consumers. You have a choice. A good start is to look at Independents of America, a documentary about a couple in search of America and independent films of the results. It is a true revelation.
