I had the pleasure of attending this show. I had already attended the columbus show but was so excited for this one. Since I was getting the chance to meet Katharine. When we got in the arena they hounded us about the gifts for her. We had to go through 3 different people before they let us take them on into the arena. I was so nervous the whole concert. Katharine came out and she was amazing as always. Love the new hair cut btw!
She started out with Black Horse and the Cherry Tree and went into Think which I was excited about. She wasnt able to do that song at the Columbus show. Then she said it was her first time in heels but she needed to take them off. So she took them off and threw them aside. She said, as did the others, that this was the best crowd they had played to. She said the others kept coming back telling me 'oh my gosh they're amazing, amazing, your gonna love it' and its so true. She did Somewhere Over the Rainbow and ended with a standing Ovation. I was happy to see that. :)
After the concert I was getting so nervous. I knew we were heading back to meet her. When we got back there it was a very small and intimate room. Not a lot of people at all.. maybe about 20 people, if that. Security wasnt tight at all. They came in once in while to check up, but that I recall no one actually stayed in there. 4 of the idols showed up. Ace came in first and we talked with him for a couple mins then Chris came in, he went to the back of the room and worked his way up.
I was waiting for Katharine to come in, but when I looked behind me she was already in there, in the back signing autographs. She made her way up to our table and she was so sweet. She signed 5 things of mine.. I apologized for having so much and she said oh no no its perfectly fine. We had gifts for her so I asked her if she could open hers. She said oh yeah of course! she sat down with us and opened them all up. She loved the Thank You box..the project was a success, thank you to who all participated in that. She was overwhelmed by it and just loved it. She said she was going to read them all on the bus.She read mine and a the twin little girls that made her hearts when she was sitting there. When she saw it she was all, Thank you?? Thank you for what?? then she opened it and saw all the hearts and just beamed.
She then opened the gifts I had brought her and loved everything I got her. She thanked me and gave me a hug and put everything back in but the bracelet she put it on. Her and my mom and I sat and talked for a little while and then I had wanted to talk to her alone.. away from my mom and Katharine knew why and knew I didnt want my mother to hear so she took me aside and we talked for a little while till I was ready to go back to my mom.
She made sure I was finished and didnt have anything else to talk about before we went back. When we were done we went to go back over to my mom, she got stopped by a few last minute people and signed their stuff then came back over to us. She thanked us again for everything again we got one more picture and we said our goodbyes. When she left, Bucky came over and signed my book and talked for a couple mins and then we all left the room at the same time. We were the last ones out of the room. The arena guy was all you all set? We said yup..hes like alrighty then and showed us the way out.
Overall it I got about 40mins with her. My mom said I was with her for about 20mins alone. She teased and said she didnt think I was coming back. haha. I feel blessed to have had that long and be able to talk to her about things. She was so sweet and so caring. This is one girl that really loves her fans. She treats you like a friend.
