EliKatFan06 from katharinefans.com recap

Next was KATHARINE! I was SOOOOOO excited she did the 2,3,4, and came out in a black dress... she walked all over and waved to fans, and the cutest thing was how you could hear every one singing along with her espically at the NO, NO , NO, NO part LOVED IT! She then talked to us all and told us how she took her first visit her to see her sister because she went to college in St.Louis. Then she explained how she could only sing two songs, and how she was going to sing three before but she fractured her left foot (she showed us her cast and everyoen awwwwed) she had to sick with two. So at this point she is begining to sing SOTW I have goosebumps GLORE on all over. OH MY GOSH I never thought I would be that touched by a performance but this girl can SING her butt off honestly, It was my favorite performance of the night! She got into the song, and sang with her heart, my mom was on the phone with me at the time and she thought she sang amazingly as well.. it was too bad she could only sing 2 songs but seriously those two performances were enough to know that this girl is MAJORLY TALENTED! I can not wait for you all to hear her in concert. At one point the camera zoomed to her face and her eyes looked watery, I don't think she was crying but It sort of looked like she was going to. No doubt about it Katharine McPhee is going to be a huge star She got a really big appaulse as well, I know other people have stated in their reviews that she didnt but I have ears and she got one of the biggest ones. Her, Chris, Ace,Elliot andTaylor seemed to get the biggest.

Katfan101 at Katharinefans Recap

YES, it was a great show! It had moments of cheese, but I really did enjoy it. I couldn't get over how YOUNG everyone looked up close!I did meet a few Kat fans on my trip. I remember meeting a cute little girl walking with her parents wearing a Kat shirt. She couldn't have been more than 5 years old. I gave her one of my orange Kat glow sticks. She was THRILLED!HOOOOOO! I know she saw me, and actually interacted with me from the stage. That was sweet. I was wearing my orange shirt, holding my orange glow sticks HIGH! Katharine appeared outta no where after the words "Two, Three, Four" came out over the loud speaker! The "Black Horse" (and the cherry tree) came charging onto the stage. Katharine was beautiful and ON FIRE! She was smiling, and chatty...and like the other American Idols she worked the whole stage side to side. She showed and explained her foot injury. She was sporting her something that looked less like a cast, and more like a removeable black posterior splint with velcro straps about it, with some sort of black ortho shoe. She managed to get around the entire stage and ramps, keeping up and gimping with the other singers on the final two group songs. Yep. She made me proud. I'm VERY much looking forward to seeing what Katharine does in the future. COUNT ON HER BEING THERE!

Mcpheevaepidemic from the AI Boards Recap

OK, then the moment I had been waiting for all summer.....KAT! I was getting impatient and all of the sudden I hear "WOO HOO" haha! She was wearing a black floor length dress. Her hair was kind of wavy. Oh my goodness, she looked so gorgeous! I couldn't believe my eyes, and yet there she was standing in flesh and blood right there! It was the most amazing thing. I will never forget it for as long as I live. She sang Black Horse and addressed the crowd. She said that she wasn't able to perform the first three weeks of the tour because she was sick. Then she lifted her dress a little to show everyone her cast. The crowd gasped! It was so loud! It was cool though the way everyone gasped at the same time. Then she stood in the middle of the stage with the mic in the stand and..."When all the clouds darken up the skyway..." The crowd went WILD! It was absolutely pheenomenal! I was just soaking up every moment and savoring it. I mean I still can't believe Katharine McPhee was standing RIGHT THERE! When she finished I looked out to the crowd and the most amazing thing happened. Everyone was standing up! She got a standing ovation! I don't know if the others got standing ovations too because I wasn't paying attention to that but I noticed it for Kat. I was tears. She sounded so amazing, wonderful, pheenomenal, words can't describe it.

McFlyver at AI Boards

Ok, so, I was on the boards Sunday morning, and Alix came on. She asked me if I had meet and greet passes for the show I was going to see that night...I didn't...so, she told me to go early and see if I could score some. I arrived at Savvis Center at around 4:30 CST, hung around outside for a bit, and went in. I walked around for a few minutes until I saw a couple walking away from these two people...they were smiling. I went a little closer...and I could see that they were giving out meet and greet passes! They had just given out another one when I came up and asked, 'hey, you got another one of those?' They did! I was in the right place at the right time, because, it turns out, they didn't pass those out for much longer....

So, I waited around for a while...found my seat (which was in the middle of the established seats there in the arena...not the best seats, but, hey, I got to see KAT) :) Then, at around 6, I went backstage where they told us to go, and I stood in line for a few minutes. The idols all sat down behind this long table...and as the line moved slowly, I approached Lisa, Mandisa, Kellie, Ace....I shook their hands, and didn't spend much time with them, except for Kellie. I approached her in line, and shook her hand, and I told her I had become a fan of hers mainly because of the McPickles on the AI boards :) She was like, 'What's a McPickle?' in her accent...it was so cute and funny! :) I told her about the McPickles and that the Queen McPickle (alix) was the reason I was standing there with her there, at that moment :) She was really nice, funny, and down to earth :)

Ok, so I just kind of said hello to all the rest...I told Mandisa I loved her singing...but kept moving toward the end of the line...second from last was Kat...When I finally approached her, I could feel myself shaking a bit...and I wasn't sure quite what to say at first...but, I managed to tell her that I am definitely one of her biggest fans, and that I was so happy to have the opportunity to meet her...and I told her that there were so many people on the AI boards that love her...and I asked her, if she could ever find the time, to drop by and see us sometime :) She was very lovely...she said she would try, but with the rest of the tour and the album coming up...it would be hard...I realized this :p but I had to give us all a plug :)

Kat was more beautiful in person than I could ever imagine. No photograph does her justice. And I noticed that when it was your turn, she gave you her whole attention...like she really was interested in meeting her fans. I loved every second I got to stand there with her. She is really down to earth, not diva-like in the least...I don't know where anyone could ever get that impression of this lovely girl.

So, after a couple of minutes, a security guy came up and said, 'ok, let's move it along now'...so I had to go. I offered my hand to Kat, and she shook it...I couldn't believe it...I was touching Katharine McPhee!!! I was so happy at that moment :) I wanted to 'pull a Derrik' and ask her for a hug, but I realized how far he got with that, so I left it alone :p LOL....so, I moved on, shook 'the winner's' hand...and got out of line. I then stood about 25 to 30 feet away from the idols...and just...basked in the moment...I stared at Kat...probably drooled a bit...lol...and just....wished I could stay there forever :)

Ok, so, after that, the actuall show was sort of anticlimactic :P It really was. First of all, they started about 20 or so minutes late...then, they just sort of rushed things...All I really cared about was Kat...but Mandisa was brilliant, as was Lisa...Elliot and Chris sounded good...Taylor's harmonica drove me nuts....

Kat, of course, was the highlight. She came out in the beautiful black dress...curly hair...and belted out BHCT and SOTR....flawlessly. I yelled myself hoarse :) Then, with the final group numbers, Kat seemed like she was in pain a bit. I think her foot was botherin g her. But all in all, this experience was probably the best moment of my life :)
